CEPROFARENA (Center for Family Promotion and Natural Recognition of Fertility) was founded in Peru in the late 1970s by Luis Giusti La Rosa and Paulina Hundskopf. Luis, a pediatrician committed to family health, and Paulina, a teacher and educator, shared a common concern in the growing introduction of artificial contraceptive methods in the country. Both felt the need to offer a natural alternative that respected human dignity and was aligned with Christian principles. Inspired by their faith and in collaboration with Monsignor Irizar, they sought to spread an approach that promoted a comprehensive vision of fertility and family well-being.

This method, developed by doctors John and Evelyn Billings in Australia, teaches women to identify their fertile days by monitoring cervical mucus.
